Continuity of Instruction

Student education and academics is the primary mission of the University of Richmond.  Planning for the continuity of student education during disruptive events is essential to sustaining this charge.

The Office of Emergency Management, in collaboration with the Provost’s Office and the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT), developed this webpage to provide information for University of Richmond faculty members, so that the education process is less impacted during an event that disrupts classroom instruction.

These resources might best be utilized during times when:

  • The physical classroom or building in which a course is normally taught is inaccessible for more than one class meeting.
  • Library services are unavailable.
  • External events (snowstorm, electrical outage, flooding, etc.) affect regular classroom activity.
  • Blackboard is unavailable for 24 hours or more.
